Extended Metaphor

Definition:
My definition of the words extended metaphor would be "a metaphor stretched throughout a stanza or the whole poem."

Example:
Your touch magnetizing
Feels like I'm floating
Leaves my body glowing
They say be afraid
You're not like the others
Futuristic lover
Different DNA
They don't understand you.
- Katy Perry

Significance of the Term:
It's important for us to learn to extend our imagination so that when we write essays or short stories, we'd have many images in our heads to describe.
