My definition of rhyme would be "to have a few words have the same ending sound."
Example:
(from There's a Wocket in my Pocket!)
"I like the Zable on the Table.
And the Ghair beneath the Chair.
But the Bofa on the Sofa acts
as if he doesn't care."
- Dr. Seuss.
Significance of the Term:
It's important to know this word because when you rhyme in poems, it makes it sound more interesting to read. It'd be more creative if we knew many words that rhyme with each other.
