My definition of poetry would be "the thoughts and feelings of someone, put together into a paragraph to show a message."
Example:
Don't lose who you are
In the blur of the start
Seeing is deceiving; dreaming is believing
It's okay not to be okay

Significance of the Term:
We would use this because we all have thoughts and feelings, but some people don't know how to show it or the right way to show it. It's important for language arts because putting new vocabulary words would help us learn new words and the way everything is put together.
